Care Assistant – Part‑time

About the role

We are looking for a compassionate Care Assistant to join our team at Agincare in Chard. This part‑time role involves supporting residents in a care home environment, helping them maintain independence and enjoy a high quality of life.

Key responsibilities

• Provide companionship, communication and engagement with residents.
• Assist with personal care such as washing, bathing, dressing and oral hygiene.
• Prompt, assist or administer medication and topical creams as required.
• Support residents with meals, snacks and hydration, ensuring nutritional needs are met.
• Carry out light domestic tasks, including cleaning and tidying.
• Help residents with mobility to promote independence.
• Organise and accompany residents on social outings and in‑home activities.

Required profile

• At least 12 months’ right to work in the UK.
• Availability for shift patterns (08:00‑14:00, 14:00‑20:00 or 08:00‑20:00) covering 24 hours per week, including alternate weekends.
• Commitment to delivering person‑centred care with empathy and respect.

Required skills

• No specific technical skills required; a caring attitude and willingness to learn are essential.
