Care Assistant – Residential Care (Days & Nights)

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate Care Assistant to join a small, family‑owned residential care home in Allendale, Northumberland. The role involves providing person‑centred support to adults with learning disabilities and complex needs, working a rolling rota of day, evening and night shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality, person‑centred care to 13 residents.
• Assist residents with personal care, daily living activities and mobility.
• Promote dignity, independence and choice in all interactions.
• Provide emotional support and companionship.
• Maintain accurate care records and encourage participation in activities.
• Complete light housekeeping and 1–2 hours of cleaning during night shifts.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a care setting is preferred.
• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) is desirable.
• Caring, patient and professional attitude.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Genuine passion for supporting adults with learning disabilities.
