Care Assistant – Residential & Dementia Care

About the role

Friends of the Elderly is seeking a compassionate Care Assistant to join the newly opened Friends Place in Calcot. You will work in a vibrant, state‑of‑the‑art care home providing residential, dementia and respite care for older adults.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver personal care, including washing, dressing and toileting.
• Provide companionship and support daily activities.
• Prepare and serve meals, ensuring dietary requirements are met.
• Assist residents with mobility and transfers safely.
• Maintain accurate care records and update care plans.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 months experience in a care home environment.
• Hold the Care Certificate or at least a Level 2 NVQ in Health and Social Care.
• Empathetic, respectful, self‑motivated and flexible.
• Team‑player willing to go the extra mile for residents.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of health and social care standards.
• Ability to follow care plans and record keeping procedures.
