Care Assistant – Residential & Nursing Home

About the role

Join Glencorse Care Home in Penicuik as a Care Assistant, providing compassionate support to residents in residential, nursing, dementia and respite settings. You will help maintain dignity, independence and quality of life for up to 54 residents.

Key responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal care, mobility, nutrition and emotional wellbeing.
• Follow individual care plans and record observations accurately.
• Identify and report changes in residents' health or needs.
• Deliver safe, high‑quality, person‑centred care in line with regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure a supportive environment.

Required profile

• A caring, compassionate and respectful approach.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable, positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Previous care experience is beneficial but not essential.
• SVQ Level 2 desirable or willingness to work towards it.
