Care Assistant – Specialist Education Setting

About the role

We are seeking a nurturing Care Assistant to support children and young people aged 4‑19 in a specialist school setting. The role involves helping students with autism, physical disabilities and complex needs develop independence, confidence and essential life skills.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small‑group support throughout the school day.
• Assist with personal care tasks such as toileting when required.
• Support learning, communication and social development.
• Encourage independence and positive engagement.
• Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists and other support staff.
• Help maintain a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment.

Required profile

• Caring, patient and proactive attitude.
• Experience in care, support work, education or SEN environments (desirable but not essential).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs.
• Reliability and commitment to a long‑term role.

Required skills

• No specific technical skills required.
