Care Home General Manager

About the role

We are looking for a warm, enthusiastic, and dedicated General Manager to lead Acacia Mews Care Home in Hatfield. You will be responsible for delivering person‑centred, high‑quality care in a safe and stimulating environment while meeting regulatory and business performance targets.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure consistent delivery of high‑quality, person‑centred care based on best practice.
• Oversee recruitment, retention and development of staff within the home.
• Act as the main contact for residents, relatives, visitors and health‑ and social‑care professionals.
• Maintain safe staffing levels in line with occupancy and dependency.
• Provide inspirational leadership and management to the team.
• Manage costs and budgets, regularly reviewing stock and expenses.

Required profile

• Minimum four years’ experience in a similar care environment.
• Leadership and Management Level 5 qualification or equivalent.
• Excellent leadership and management abilities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and competence in IT.
• Adaptable and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.
• Commitment to the values of caring, supportive, honest, respectful and accountable.
