Care Home Support Worker – £23 per hour (Island placements)

About the role

This contract role offers experienced support workers the chance to provide high‑quality care to older adults either within residential care homes or in clients' own homes across Scotland’s islands. You will work flexible shifts, often covering long days, and enjoy the unique environment of remote island communities.

Key responsibilities

• Support older adults in residential care homes, delivering personal care and medication administration.
• Provide community‑based care, completing multiple home visits per day and assisting with daily living tasks.
• Cover a variety of shift patterns between 07:00 and 23:00, including split or night shifts as required.
• Apply safe moving and handling techniques and follow all care protocols.

Required profile

• Minimum of 1 year experience supporting older adults in a care setting.
• Comfortable working alone and able to manage lone‑working responsibilities.
• Willingness to travel to placements on the Scottish islands (Shetland, Orkney, Western Isles, Argyll & Bute).
• Driving licence preferred for care‑home roles; mandatory for community‑care placements.
