Care Worker – Support Residents in Edinburgh

About the role

As a Care Worker at Crossreach in Edinburgh you will help older residents maintain dignity, independence and comfort. You will provide personal care, support daily routines and offer companionship, ensuring each resident feels valued and safe.

Key responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal hygiene, dressing and toileting.
• Support meals, promote nutrition and hydration.
• Encourage independence and respect individual choices.
• Facilitate activities that keep residents active and socially engaged.
• Build positive relationships with residents, families and the care team.
• Maintain accurate care records and follow established procedures.

Required profile

• Kind, dependable and committed to helping others.
• Enjoy working with people and treating everyone with respect and compassion.
• Willingness to work towards an SVQ Level 3 in Social Services and Healthcare.
• Eligibility for the PVG Scheme and registration with the SSSC.

Required skills

• Basic understanding of personal care and hygiene practices.
• Ability to follow care plans and record keeping procedures.
