Careers Lead – Education & SEND

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Careers Lead to shape and deliver a comprehensive careers strategy for a specialist education provider. You will work across multiple sites in the South East, supporting learners with SEND and ensuring our provision meets national guidance and best practice.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and evaluate the overall careers strategy.
• Design and coordinate a full careers programme, providing impartial advice and guidance.
• Build and nurture relationships with employers, creating internship and employment pathways.
• Liaise with local authorities, community organisations and external partners.
• Support curriculum teams in transition planning and employability skill development.
• Maintain accurate records of interventions, analyse data and drive service improvement.
• Ensure compliance with safeguarding, equality, diversity and SEND legislation, and support external inspections.

Required profile

• Degree‑level qualification or equivalent experience.
• Level 6 Careers Guidance qualification (or willingness to achieve).
• Proven experience delivering careers education and guidance, especially for young people or adults with SEND.
• Strong background in employer engagement and partnership working.
• Good knowledge of SEND legislation, EHCP processes and Gatsby Benchmarks.
