Caretaker – Residential Estate, North West London

About the role

A permanent Caretaker is sought to keep a residential development of five blocks in North West London clean, well presented and properly maintained. The post suits an experienced Caretaker who takes pride in their work, enjoys working independently and is committed to high standards across communal areas. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm, with an ideal start date before Christmas 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and maintain communal areas, including entrances, stairwells and corridors.
• Vacuum, sweep and keep shared spaces presentable.
• Collect litter and leaves and maintain the general appearance of the estate.
• Carry out routine site checks and report maintenance issues promptly.
• Check communal lighting and assist with basic meter readings where required.
• Record contractor visits and communicate professionally with residents and management by mobile phone and email.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Caretaker, or in a similar property maintenance or site-based role.
• Reliable, practical and proactive approach with strong attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work independently.

Required skills

• Comfortable keeping records.
• Using a mobile phone and identifying maintenance issues.
