Carpentry and Joinery Teacher

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Carpentry and Joinery Teacher to deliver practical and theoretical instruction to further education learners in Greater Manchester. The position starts at the beginning of the new academic year and is a full‑time, fixed‑term role (36 hours per week) with a competitive hourly rate.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging Carpentry and Joinery lessons to FE learners.
• Plan, prepare and assess lessons in line with curriculum requirements.
• Teach a range of practical and theoretical topics within Carpentry and Joinery.
• Monitor learner progress and provide timely feedback.
• Support students to achieve academic goals and develop industry‑standard skills.
• Maintain a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures.

Required profile

• Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS or equivalent) or relevant teaching experience.
• Relevant Carpentry and Joinery qualification (Level 3 or above preferred) or significant industry experience.
• Strong practical skills, classroom management and communication abilities.
• Enhanced DBS required (can be arranged by the recruiter).
