Carpet Estimator & Salesperson

About the role

Vallance Discount Carpets, a family‑run business on Glasgow’s south side for over 50 years, is seeking a motivated Carpet Estimator & Salesperson for its busy Cathcart store. You will combine on‑site measurements with in‑store customer service to help clients choose the right flooring.

Key responsibilities

• Visit customers’ homes to take accurate carpet measurements.
• Assist shoppers in the showroom, advising on carpet and flooring ranges.
• Calculate sales prices and prepare quotations.
• Order stock and liaise with manufacturers and suppliers.
• Maintain the showroom’s appearance and inventory.

Required profile

• Excellent customer‑service attitude and ability to work one‑to‑one with clients.
• Eagerness to develop comprehensive product knowledge.
• Strong arithmetic skills and attention to detail in paperwork.
• High personal standards, including hygiene and presentation.
• Flexibility to work a five‑day week that may include weekends.
• Valid driving licence.
