Cassandra Database Engineer – Financial Crime Tech

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Cassandra Database Engineer to join a leading banking organisation’s Financial Crime Technology team. You will work on a high‑throughput fraud detection platform, applying your NoSQL expertise to help protect the financial system from illicit activity.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement Cassandra keyspaces, data models and cluster architecture tailored for fraud detection workloads.
• Collaborate with application and middleware teams to ensure seamless data integration and alignment with business objectives.
• Own performance tuning, replication strategy and operational readiness of the Cassandra platform.
• Create and maintain design documentation, runbooks and knowledge‑transfer material.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or a related discipline.
• 4‑9 years of hands‑on experience with Apache Cassandra and NoSQL database engineering.
• Experience working in regulated environments with a strong focus on security.
• Ability to work on‑site 1‑2 days per week and collaborate in a hybrid setting.

Required skills

• Apache Cassandra (keyspace and table design, replication, performance tuning).
• CQL (Cassandra Query Language).
• Linux system administration.
• Cluster operations and monitoring.
