CAST Systems Engineer

About the role

Raytheon UK is looking for a Systems Engineer to join the Command and Staff Trainer (CAST) team. You will work with the ABACUS simulation platform and Communication & Information Systems (CIS) to support British Army training exercises from Battle Group to Corps level.

Key responsibilities

• Configure ABACUS software for exercise use and provide data to MOD customers.
• Integrate and configure individual systems to meet military training requirements.
• Deliver system training to military users and ensure competency.
• Support CAST activities across Warminster, Sennelager and remote locations.
• Maintain day‑to‑day IT operations, networked CIS exercises, and administrative duties.
• Develop consistent processes for support and administration, adhering to configuration control procedures.
• Participate in shift work, night duties and EHS compliance initiatives.

Required profile

• UK SC Security Clearance.
• Physically fit and able to work in varied environments.
• Strong presentation and training abilities.
• Willingness to attend further training and work flexible hours.

Required skills

• ABACUS simulation software.
• Communication & Information Systems (CIS) and VBS3.
• Windows operating system (desktop).
• LAN technology.
• Windows Server 2012/2016.
• VMware virtualization.
