Casual Electrical Lecturer (PTL)

About the role

New College Swindon is seeking an experienced electrical professional to join its Engineering department on a casual, part‑time basis. You will share industry knowledge, inspire learners and help them develop the practical and theoretical skills required for successful careers in the electrical sector.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality teaching, learning and assessment across Electrical programmes.
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons that develop students' practical skills and theoretical knowledge.
• Assess student work and provide timely, constructive feedback.
• Maintain accurate student records, including attendance, progress and achievement.
• Support students academically and pastorally throughout their learning journey.
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the learner experience.
• Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement within the department.

Required profile

• A Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation or a related electrical discipline.
• Relevant industry experience in the electrical sector.
• Experience of teaching, coaching, mentoring or skill transfer.
• A teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of learners.

• Flexible hours (approximately 21 hours per week across three days).
• Hourly rate of £27.21‑£32.87.
