Casual Maintenance Assistant

About the role

The Copthorne Hotel Manchester is looking for a Casual Maintenance Assistant to join its busy team. You will support furniture delivery, installation and refurbishment projects while ensuring a safe and tidy work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with delivery, assembly and installation of new bedroom furniture.
• Support furniture replacement and refurbishment projects across the hotel.
• Move, position and install furniture safely in guest rooms and other areas.
• Carry out minor repairs and adjustments to furniture as required.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
• Collaborate with Housekeeping and Maintenance teams to minimise disruption.
• Report issues, defects or delays to the Maintenance Manager.
• Comply with all Health & Safety policies and procedures.
• Provide general maintenance support for furniture installation projects.

Required profile

• Positive, ‘can‑do’ attitude.
• Experience in general property maintenance, including electrical work.
• Hotel maintenance experience is advantageous.
• Flexibility to work on a rota basis, including weekends.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety at Work regulations.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Quick response to queries and effective problem‑solving.
