Casual Residential Childcare Worker

About the role

The Residential Childcare Worker role is a casual, bank‑staff position based in Preston and surrounding areas. You will provide on‑call support for children and young people living in our residential homes, covering shifts that may include long days and sleep‑ins.

Key responsibilities

• Assist children with daily routines, personal care and individualized care plans.
• Promote independence, confidence and life‑skills through supportive activities.
• Deliver consistent, compassionate care and celebrate each young person’s achievements.
• Safeguard the wellbeing of children at all times and act as an advocate when needed.
• Maintain a safe, stable and nurturing home environment.

Required profile

• Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare or equivalent experience in a children’s residential setting.
• Resilient, reliable and adaptable with a genuine commitment to young people.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and sleep‑ins.
• Ability to complete a two‑week paid on‑site training and induction programme.
