Catastrophic Loss Solicitor/Associate

About the role

Our client, a leading global legal business, is expanding its Catastrophic Loss team in Manchester. This permanent position is ideal for a newly qualified solicitor or junior solicitor with strong multi‑track personal injury experience who wishes to develop expertise in high‑value catastrophic injury claims.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of multi‑track personal injury claims, including EL/PL and RTA matters.
• Assist senior lawyers on complex, high‑value catastrophic injury cases such as brain injury, spinal injury, and fatal accidents.
• Advise clients on liability, quantum, and case strategy.
• Draft legal documents, witness statements, and court pleadings.
• Prepare cases for trial and attend hearings where appropriate.
• Engage in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution processes.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Stay up to date with legal developments in catastrophic injury and insurance law.

Required profile

• Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive (NQ+).
• Strong multi‑track personal injury experience (defendant experience preferred, claimant backgrounds considered).
• Experience handling or assisting on EL/PL and/or RTA matters.
• Solid understanding of liability and quantum.
• Strong analytical and organisational abilities.
• Excellent communication and client‑facing skills.
• Commercial awareness and proactive case management.
• Strong academic background.
