Category Manager – Corporate & Capital Procurement

About the role

King’s Facilities Management is seeking an experienced Category Manager to lead corporate and capital procurement activities across a complex healthcare organisation. You will own a portfolio with an annual spend of £10‑20 million, shaping sourcing strategies and delivering value for the NHS.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a delegated procurement category portfolio worth £10‑20 million.
• Develop and execute category plans and operational sourcing programmes.
• Lead high‑value competitive tenders from scoping to contract award.
• Negotiate and draft contracts to optimise cost and value.
• Provide commercial and contractual advice throughout the procurement lifecycle.
• Conduct market analysis, identify new sourcing opportunities and drive innovation.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships and monitor performance against KPIs.
• Track procurement savings and report commercial benefits.

Required profile

• Proven experience in category or procurement management, preferably within a large public‑sector or healthcare environment.
• Demonstrated ability to manage spend of £10 million plus and deliver cost optimisation.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and governance frameworks.
