Category Manager - Corporate Services Procurement

About the role

Join ASDA's Procurement Transformation Journey. As part of continued investment in Procurement, we are looking for a Category Manager – Corporate Services Procurement to lead a diverse, strategically important portfolio covering HR & People, Temporary Labour, Business Process Outsourcing, Financial & Banking, Legal and Professional Services. You will partner with senior stakeholders to shape strategy, deliver value and support key transformation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategies aligned to business objectives.
• Lead strategic sourcing activities, tenders and commercial negotiations to achieve cost optimisation and value creation.
• Manage key supplier relationships, driving performance, innovation and continuous improvement.
• Analyse spend, market trends and supplier capabilities to inform decision‑making.
• Partner with senior stakeholders to shape demand, challenge requirements and identify value opportunities.
• Monitor market trends and emerging supplier capabilities to refine category strategy.
• Support Procurement's transformation agenda and embed best practice across the business.

Required profile

• Procurement experience within a medium or large‑scale organisation.
• Exposure to Corporate Services spend, either as a dedicated category or within a broader procurement role.
• Strong sourcing, supplier management and negotiation capabilities in indirect spend categories.
• Proven ability to influence and build effective stakeholder relationships.
• Strong commercial acumen and analytical skills.
• Track record of delivering measurable value and procurement outcomes.
