Category Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Category Manager to lead the Electronics commodity for a global engineering organisation operating in the aerospace sector. You will develop long‑term sourcing strategies, build high‑performing supplier partnerships and ensure a resilient, competitive supply base across multiple international sites.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a global sourcing strategy for PCBA, electronic components and bare boards.
• Manage supplier relationships, performance and strategic negotiations to improve quality, cost and delivery.
• Identify, onboard and qualify new suppliers while overseeing transitions and implementation plans.
• Collaborate with manufacturing sites across Europe and beyond to support growth and sourcing needs.
• Drive supplier performance through KPI management, continuous‑improvement and Lean initiatives.
• Lead commercial discussions, long‑term agreements, contracts and cost‑reduction projects.
• Use data and market analysis to influence sourcing decisions and strategic direction.
• Support procurement transformation and continuous‑improvement programmes within the division.

Required profile

• Previous Category Management experience in aerospace or another highly regulated manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of electronics commodities such as PCBA, electronic components and bare boards.
• Proven track record of developing and delivering sourcing strategies across multiple sites.
• Extensive supplier management and negotiation experience.
• Commercial awareness of supplier contracts and long‑term agreements.
• Experience driving Lean, Kaizen or other continuous‑improvement initiatives.
