Category Manager

About the role

A market‑leading brand is seeking a Procurement Category Manager to lead procurement activity across HR and FM spend areas. Applicants need indirect or services procurement experience, a positive demeanor and excellent stakeholder engagement skills. The role covers end‑to‑end sourcing, tendering, contracts management and supplier relationship management.

Key responsibilities

• Stakeholder engagement to define category sourcing scope and supplier management strategies.
• Front‑end procurement work and market intelligence, keeping abreast of the HR and FM supplier landscape, and running cradle‑to‑grave tenders.
• Supplier Relationship Management – driving performance, innovation, collaboration and rationalisation.
• Contracts Management through the full lifecycle, including review, negotiation and renewals.
• Support broader procurement initiatives around supplier rationalisation, supply‑chain risk and operational resilience.

Required profile

• Indirect or services procurement expertise – HR, FM, corporate services, IT, marketing, etc.
• Ability to develop and implement category, sourcing and supplier relationship strategies.
• Proven ability to contribute to procurement savings and supplier rationalisation targets.
• Full‑lifecycle procurement expertise – tendering, negotiations, contracts management and SRM.
• Positive, proactive, outgoing relationship builder who fosters collaborative stakeholder relations.
• Comfortable with hybrid working – 2 days in office, 3 days remote.
