Catering Assistant – Café Support

About the role

GLL is seeking a friendly and reliable Catering Assistant to support the café at The Sovereign Centre in Eastbourne. You will be the welcoming face for visitors while helping to deliver high‑quality food and drink service.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, serve and deliver food and beverages to customers.
• Maintain health, safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards in the café.
• Ensure compliance with food safety legislation and internal policies.
• Process card payments and handle cash transactions accurately.
• Participate in team meetings, training sessions and ongoing performance assessments.
• Support the development and improvement of café service standards.

Required profile

• Excellent customer‑service attitude with a friendly, welcoming demeanor.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and multitask in a busy environment.
• Willingness to follow normal and emergency operating procedures.
• Commitment to attend training and engage in continuous learning.

Required skills
