Catering Assistant (Enhanced DBS) – Part‑time at Rochdale School

About the role

We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join a busy high school in Rochdale. This temporary, ongoing position starts in September and offers consistent weekday hours, ideal for candidates seeking part‑time work during school hours.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and serving of meals to students and staff.
• Set up and replenish food counters and service areas.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene and cleanliness.
• Wash dishes, utensils, and catering equipment.
• Clean kitchen and dining areas in line with health and safety regulations.
• Assist with stock rotation and storage of food deliveries.
• Provide friendly and efficient customer service during meal times.
• Follow all school safeguarding, health and safety, and food hygiene procedures.

Required profile

• Previous experience in catering, kitchen assistance or food service.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
• Understanding of food hygiene and health & safety practices.
• Reliable, punctual and able to commit to ongoing work.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is essential.
