About the role

Join the friendly team at Ivydene Residential & Nursing Home in Ivybridge as a Catering Assistant. You will help deliver high‑quality meals to residents while enjoying a balanced 17‑hour work week with no late nights or split shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the catering team with basic food preparation and meal service.
• Present and serve meals to residents, maintaining high standards of presentation and temperature.
• Follow food hygiene and safety regulations at all times.
• Keep kitchen and dining areas clean, safe, and welcoming.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support residents' daily dining experience.

Required profile

• A caring, enthusiastic attitude with a genuine interest in supporting older people.
• Strong teamwork skills and willingness to help colleagues.
• Clear communication and a flexible approach to work.

Required skills

• Understanding of safe food handling and cleaning practices.
• Food hygiene knowledge or willingness to obtain a food hygiene certificate.
• Previous catering or kitchen experience is desirable.
