Catering Assistant – Part‑time (16.25 hrs/week)

About the role

Join HCL as a Catering Assistant at John Warner Secondary School, working 16.25 hours per week during term time. You will help deliver safe, nutritious meals to children while upholding the highest standards of food hygiene and safeguarding.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation, cooking and serving meals to pupils.
• Maintain food handling and hygiene standards at all times.
• Follow health and safety regulations in the kitchen and dining area.
• Receive, check and organise supplier deliveries.
• Carry out washing‑up duties and keep the kitchen and dining area clean.
• Represent HCL and embody its values in every interaction.

Required profile

• Commitment to safeguarding children and young people.
• Food Hygiene Level 2 certification (preferred).
• Basic understanding of health and safety procedures.
• Knowledge of key allergens (preferred).
• Team‑player with punctuality and a drive to succeed.
