Catering Assistant – Temp to Permanent (Witney)

About the role

This temporary position supports the canteen team in Witney, delivering breakfast and lunch service to staff and visitors. The role offers a clear pathway to permanent employment for a reliable candidate who enjoys a fast‑paced food‑service environment.

Key responsibilities

• Serve food and beverages to customers, handling breakfast and lunch orders.
• Prepare basic cold dishes and hot deli items to brand standards.
• Take payments, manage cash and maintain accurate financial records.
• Restock merchandise, ensure attractive displays and keep vending machines supplied.
• Clean back‑of‑house areas, crockery, cutlery and public spaces using appropriate equipment.
• Transport heavy trolleys between buildings and set up functions for daily and VIP events.

Required profile

• Reliable and able to work a regular Monday‑Friday day shift (07:00‑15:00).
• Physical stamina for lifting and moving heavy items.
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a busy environment.
• Prior kitchen or food‑service experience is an advantage.

Required skills

• Basic cold food preparation.
• Cash handling and operation of point‑of‑sale equipment.
• Use of vending machines and related equipment.
