Catering Lecturer – Further Education (Full‑time, Temporary)

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Catering Lecturer to deliver high‑quality lessons to learners in further education settings across North London. The role involves guiding students through culinary techniques, professional kitchen practices, and hospitality theory, helping them progress toward careers in the food service industry.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging catering, professional cookery and hospitality lessons.
• Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback and maintain accurate academic records.
• Create an inclusive classroom environment that supports learners of varying abilities.
• Ensure all practical sessions comply with food hygiene, health and safety, and industry regulations.
• Contribute to student retention, achievement and progression.

Required profile

• Relevant degree or qualification in catering, professional cookery, hospitality management or a related field.
• Teaching qualification such as PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training, or equivalent.
• Experience teaching catering or hospitality in FE, HE, secondary or adult learning environments.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Strong communication and classroom management skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of food hygiene and health‑and‑safety standards.
• Ability to design and deliver practical culinary sessions.
