Catering Team Lead – Care Home Kitchen

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Catering Team Lead to manage the kitchen operations of a residential care home in Kent. You will ensure meals and snacks are prepared and delivered to the highest standards, supporting a warm, homely environment for residents and a positive workplace for staff.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the kitchen shift, overseeing meal and snack preparation and delivery.
• Apply IDDSI principles to meet residents' dietary needs.
• Maintain hygiene standards and ensure attractive food presentation.
• Monitor stock levels, place orders and manage deliveries cost‑effectively.
• Assist with food service, trolley distribution, and cleaning rota.
• Support residents at mealtimes under nursing direction.
• Contribute to personal development and team improvement.

Required profile

• Minimum three years experience as a cook in a care home or similar setting.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a kitchen team.
• Respectful and empathetic attitude towards residents.
• Valid driver’s licence preferred due to location.

Required skills

• IDDSI knowledge and up‑to‑date training.
• Food Hygiene Certificate Level 3.
• HACCP Level 3 certification.
