Central Europe Reporter – MandateWire Europe

About the role

The MandateWire team within FT Specialist seeks a Central Europe Reporter to cover asset owners across the DACH region and Central Europe. You will build a strong network of senior contacts, uncover exclusive investment stories and produce both written and multimedia journalism for our subscription audience.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with senior representatives of asset owners across the DACH region and Central Europe through regular telephone interviews, virtual meetings and industry events.
• Research and write accurate, original news stories covering investment mandate searches, manager appointments, terminations and strategic allocation changes.
• Conduct independent research using annual reports, regulatory filings and other public sources to identify newsworthy developments.
• Maintain and update MandateWire’s proprietary database with timely market intelligence.
• Generate a pipeline of exclusive mandate opportunity stories for daily subscriber alerts and create multimedia content such as video interviews and podcasts.

Required profile

• Fluency in German with professional‑level speaking, reading and translation ability.
• Strong communication and interviewing skills, able to build relationships with senior industry contacts.
• Excellent written English for clear, accurate and engaging journalism.
• Strong research, analytical and organisational skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines.
• A curious, proactive approach with meticulous attention to detail.
