Chargehand / Supervisor – Civils

About the role

This is a long‑term contract position based in Bodmin, delivering high‑quality civils work such as kerbing, drainage and hand‑laid tarmac. You will lead a small team of operatives and ensure daily site activities run safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of up to six operatives.
• Deliver high‑quality civils work including kerbing, drainage and hand‑laid tarmac.
• Plan and coordinate plant, materials and daily site activities.
• Conduct daily briefings and maintain accurate records.
• Ensure compliance with RAMS and safe working practices.
• Read and interpret utility drawings and plans.

Required profile

• Valid CSCS Card.
• NRSWA Operative certification.
• Full UK driving licence (LGV desirable).
• Ability to securely park a 3.5 t vehicle.
• Experience leading a small team on construction sites.
