Chartered Building Surveyor – Glasgow

About the role

Our client, a well‑established multidisciplinary consultancy, is seeking a MRICS Chartered Building Surveyor to join its Glasgow team. The role offers exposure to commercial, residential and public sector projects and the chance to lead professional surveying assignments from inception to completion.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake building condition surveys, technical due diligence and defect investigations.
• Deliver Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) programmes, lifecycle planning and asset‑management advice.
• Prepare specifications, schedules of work and technical reports.
• Provide building pathology and defect diagnosis services.
• Manage refurbishment, repair and maintenance projects from inception through to completion.
• Act as Contract Administrator under JCT and SBCC contracts.
• Prepare schedules of condition, dilapidations and reinstatement cost assessments.
• Oversee insurance reinstatement projects following insured events.
• Ensure compliance with CDM regulations, health & safety legislation and industry best practice.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships while identifying new business opportunities.

Required profile

• MRICS qualified with a degree in Building Surveying or a related discipline.
• Proven experience delivering a range of professional building surveying services.
• Strong knowledge of building construction, pathology and defect diagnosis.
• Experience managing PPM programmes and asset‑management instructions.
• Demonstrable project management and contract administration experience.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
