Chartered Environmental Health Officer – Remote/Hybrid

About the role

We are seeking a Chartered Environmental Health Officer to join our fast‑growing team. The role is field‑based with full remote flexibility, allowing you to investigate housing and environmental issues across the West Midlands.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect residential properties for disrepair, damp, structural hazards and Category 1/2 risks.
• Investigate statutory nuisance complaints such as noise, smoke, odours and other environmental hazards.
• Apply the Environmental Protection Act and Housing Acts to issue enforcement notices for solicitor clients.
• Build robust evidence files for high‑value housing condition claims.
• Produce detailed technical reports to support client cases.

Required profile

• Chartered Environmental Health Practitioner status (MCIEH or equivalent).
• Degree or MSc in Environmental Health, Housing or a related field.
• Extensive practical knowledge of the Environmental Protection Act and HHSRS.
• Proven experience handling complex disrepair and statutory nuisance cases.
• Resilient, problem‑solving attitude with confidence in dispute resolution.
• Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle for field inspections.
