Chartered Quantity Surveyor – Glasgow (MRICS)

About the role

Our client, a well‑established multidisciplinary consultancy, is seeking a Chartered Quantity Surveyor to join its Glasgow office. The role involves delivering commercial and cost‑management advice across commercial, residential and public sector projects from feasibility through to final accounts.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver pre‑ and post‑contract quantity surveying services across a range of projects.
• Prepare cost plans, budgets, estimates and feasibility studies.
• Manage procurement processes, tender documentation and evaluations.
• Provide cost reporting, valuations, payment certification and financial control.
• Lead change management, risk management and value‑engineering exercises.
• Negotiate and agree final accounts.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Lead projects from inception through to completion.
• Mentor junior surveyors and support their professional development.
• Contribute to business development activities and help secure new opportunities.

Required profile

• MRICS chartered status.
• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• 5+ years post‑qualification experience within a consultancy environment.
• Strong pre‑ and post‑contract quantity surveying experience.
• Sound knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts.
• Experience delivering projects across a variety of sectors.
• Excellent client‑facing, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong commercial awareness and problem‑solving ability.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
• Proactive and collaborative approach.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Public sector project experience advantageous but not essential.
