Chartered Town Planner – Senior Role in Chelmsford

About the role

We are seeking a Chartered Town Planner (MRTPI) to join a leading property and planning consultancy in Chelmsford. The senior position offers autonomy to lead planning projects for both private and public sector clients, delivering strategic advice and managing applications through the planning system.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end planning projects, from brief development to successful delivery.
• Provide advice across development management, local plan promotions, planning applications, appeals and strategic planning.
• Build and maintain key client relationships and contribute to business growth in the Chelmsford region.
• Mentor and support junior team members, sharing technical planning expertise.

Required profile

• Full Chartered membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (MRTPI) or imminent eligibility.
• Significant experience in planning consultancy or relevant public/private sector planning roles.
• Proven track record of delivering complex planning projects through the planning system.
• Excellent communication, commercial awareness and ability to nurture client relationships.
