Chef – Hospital Catering (Part‑time)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Chef to join the catering team at Winfield Hospital, a private facility on the outskirts of Gloucester. This part‑time position involves preparing, cooking and serving nutritious meals for patients, staff, consultants and visitors across a 7‑day shift pattern.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute daily menus in line with hospital nutrition standards.
• Prepare, cook, and present meals for a diverse hospital clientele.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene and safety at all times.
• Work flexibly across three shifts per week, covering the 0700‑1730 kitchen operating hours.
• Collaborate with the wider catering team to ensure smooth service delivery.

Required profile

• Proven experience working as a Chef in a commercial or institutional kitchen.
• Minimum Level 2 Food Hygiene certification.
• Warm, considerate and empathetic approach to service.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.
• Flexible, positive attitude with a willingness to work a 7‑day roster.

Required skills

• Level 2 Food Hygiene certification
• Knowledge of the IDDSI framework (desirable)
