Chef – Residential Care Home

About the role

Glenholme Healthcare’s Bispham Gardens is seeking a part‑time Chef to join its kitchen team. You will prepare balanced, home‑cooked meals for residents, respecting cultural, religious and dietary requirements while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.

Key responsibilities

• Train and ensure all kitchen staff are aware of COSHH, HACCP and health regulations.
• Conduct kitchen audits, keep accurate records and meet regulatory requirements.
• Gather feedback from service users and families to adjust menus.
• Manage recruitment, induction, training and performance of kitchen personnel.
• Prepare nutritious meals using fresh, seasonal ingredients and adhere to individual dietary needs.
• Control kitchen budgets for stock and materials.
• Maintain comprehensive records in line with Environmental Health, Food Standards Agency and CQC standards.

Required profile

• Knowledge of COSHH, HACCP and Environmental Health regulations.
• Proven experience leading and motivating a kitchen team.
• Strong understanding of nutrition and dietary requirements.
• Ability to create a welcoming dining experience for residents.
• Previous experience as a Head Chef is desirable.
