Chef/Cook for Residential Care Home (Full & Part‑time)

About the role

We are seeking passionate and reliable Chef/Cook to join a residential care home in Dawlish. Working in a newly refurbished, modern kitchen, you will prepare nutritious, home‑cooked meals for elderly residents, supporting a warm, person‑centred environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook fresh, balanced meals daily, meeting individual dietary and nutritional needs.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness.
• Support menu planning and ensure variety in meals.
• Manage stock rotation, conduct basic ordering and monitor inventory.
• Collaborate with care and support staff to promote a positive dining experience.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Cook or Chef (care‑home experience desirable but not essential).
• Understanding of dietary requirements for elderly care or willingness to learn.
• Reliable, organised and able to work independently.
• Friendly, caring approach with a passion for good food.

Required skills

• Food Safety Level 2 (or equivalent knowledge of food hygiene standards).
