Chemistry Lecturer (Full‑time/Part‑time, Temporary)

About the role

Reed FE is seeking enthusiastic Chemistry Lecturers to deliver high‑quality teaching across FE colleges, prisons and training providers in West London. The role can be full‑time or part‑time on a temporary basis, offering a flexible schedule for experienced educators.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess chemistry lessons for 16‑19‑year‑old learners and apprentices.
• Develop teaching resources, practical experiments and assessment materials.
• Manage classroom behaviour and support learners with diverse needs.
• Maintain accurate records, attendance and progress reports.
• Collaborate with fellow staff to ensure curriculum consistency.

Required profile

• Teaching qualification (AET, PTLLS, PGCE or equivalent).
• Assessors’ qualification (A1, D33/D34, CAVA, TAQA, IQA) – or willingness to obtain.
• Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Chemistry.
• Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply.
• Level 2 (or equivalent) in English and Maths.

Required skills

• Strong chemistry subject knowledge.
• Lesson planning and curriculum development.
• Assessment design and marking.
