Chemistry Teacher – Full‑time Temporary Role in East London

About the role

Prospero Teaching is recruiting a Chemistry Teacher for an Ofsted Outstanding secondary school in Newham, East London. The role is full‑time on a temporary basis, covering Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 curriculum, with occasional support for the 6th form.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess Chemistry lessons for KS3 and KS4.
• Prepare students for examinations and coursework.
• Contribute to departmental meetings and school‑wide CPD sessions.
• Participate in parent evenings and pastoral duties as required.
• Maintain up‑to‑date safeguarding records and follow school policies.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Relevant experience teaching Chemistry in the UK.
• Safeguarding training completed within the last year.
• Right to work in the UK and an enhanced DBS with online update service.
• Two professional references covering the past two years.

Required skills

• Strong subject knowledge of Chemistry.
• Effective lesson planning and classroom management.
• Assessment and feedback techniques.
• Awareness of safeguarding procedures.

What we offer

• Day rate between £180 and £280, paid to scale.
