Chief Finance Officer (CFO) – North West Lancashire

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Chief Finance Officer to provide part‑time CFO services to ambitious private businesses (£2‑50 M) in North West Lancashire. The role is self‑employed, operating within The CFO Centre’s model, offering autonomy while being supported by a global network of CFOs. You will work flexibly, tailoring your service delivery to each client’s schedule, while maintaining compliance with UK financial regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver strategic financial guidance and reporting to private businesses with turnover between £2 M and £50 M.
• Develop and manage a personal portfolio of client companies, identifying opportunities for growth, acquisition or consolidation.
• Collaborate with The CFO Centre’s regional directors and a network of CFOs to ensure high‑quality service delivery.
• Provide part‑time CFO expertise, translating numbers into actionable business decisions that improve owners’ lives.
• Identify and implement financial controls and processes to improve efficiency and risk management.

Required profile

• Chartered accountant qualification from a recognised UK institute.
• Proven experience as a CFO or Finance Director in mid‑sized companies.
• Demonstrated ability to build long‑lasting client relationships and work independently.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into clear business insights.
