Chief Finance Officer – Contract – South Wales

About the role

We are looking for a senior Chief Finance Officer or Finance Director to join our network of independent CFOs. The role is contract‑based and self‑employed, providing part‑time CFO services to ambitious private businesses in South Wales with revenues between £2 M and £50 M.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver strategic finance and commercial advice to business owners, CEOs and MDs, helping them achieve growth, acquisition or consolidation goals.
• Build and manage a personal portfolio of client companies, working autonomously while benefiting from a supportive global CFO network.
• Provide part‑time CFO/Finance Director services, including financial planning, reporting, cash‑flow management and strategic decision support.
• Maintain long‑term relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor and partner in their business journey.

Required profile

• Qualified member of a UK chartered accounting institute (e.g., ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA).
• Proven experience as a CFO or Finance Director in mid‑sized businesses, with strong commercial finance and business‑strategy expertise.
• Demonstrated ability to build genuine, long‑lasting client relationships and work independently.
• Comfortable operating in a self‑employed, contract model while collaborating with a regional director and peer CFOs.
