Chief Financial Officer

About the role

Harper May Ltd is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to join the executive team in London. Reporting directly to the CEO and sitting on the Board, the CFO will drive financial strategy, ensure regulatory compliance and maintain capital resilience as the firm expands into new markets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a financial strategy that supports growth while preserving capital adequacy.
• Provide the CEO and Board with rigorous financial analysis, scenario modelling and strategic advice on acquisitions, product launches and market expansion.
• Manage regulatory relationships, statutory filings and audit liaison to guarantee clean governance.
• Oversee cash management, balance‑sheet optimisation and capital allocation across the business.
• Build, lead and develop a high‑performing finance team capable of supporting current complexity and future scale.
• Drive forecasting, variance analysis and performance reporting to enable rapid decision‑making.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in finance within regulated financial services.
• Proven CFO‑level or Finance Director experience in a fast‑growing, ambitious organisation.
• Deep knowledge of financial‑services regulation, capital adequacy and compliance frameworks.
• Strong commercial acumen combined with disciplined financial control and risk awareness.
• Ability to communicate financial strategy clearly to the Board, regulators and external partners.
