Child Support Worker / Mentor – Residential Setting

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Child Support Worker / Mentor to join our residential setting in Ilford. You will work closely with children and young people who have complex needs, providing daily care, guidance and emotional support to help them build confidence and independence.

Key responsibilities

• Support children and young people in daily routines, including personal care, meals and leisure activities.
• Promote positive behaviour and implement individual care plans.
• Build trusting relationships and act as a mentor to encourage personal development.
• Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with the wider care and education team.
• Ensure health, safety and wellbeing standards are met at all times.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with children or young people in residential, SEN, SEMH, or care settings.
• Comfortable supporting individuals with autism, challenging behaviour or additional needs.
• Ability to follow care plans, keep detailed records and work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to creating a safe, supportive environment for vulnerable youth.
