About the role
The Childcare Skills Coach will join Next Step Apprenticeships to deliver high‑quality early years apprenticeship training across Sussex. Working on‑site and in the field, you will support learners from Level 2 to Level 3, helping them achieve successful completions and prepare for their End Point Assessment.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver face‑to‑face apprenticeship training for Early Years Level 2 and Level 3.
- Run Skills Boot Camps and provide specialist advice to learners.
- Monitor learner progress through regular 1:1 check‑ins, both remotely and on‑site.
- Maintain accurate teaching records, plans and progress notes.
- Support learners with additional learning needs and disabilities.
- Prepare learners for the End Point Assessment and off‑the‑job training.
- Mark work using the Aptem e‑portfolio system and give constructive feedback.
- Report safeguarding disclosures and attend standardisation meetings.
Required profile
- Minimum two years’ experience in the early years sector.
- Experience delivering work‑based learning and apprenticeship qualifications.
- Assessor Award TAQA, A1 or equivalent (essential).
- IQA/V1 certificate (desirable).
- Teaching qualification or relevant further‑education experience (desirable).
