Children Crisis Support Worker – Waking Nights

About the role

Paragon Social Care is seeking compassionate individuals to join the team as Children Crisis Support Workers on waking nights. You will provide trauma‑informed care to vulnerable children and young people during evenings and overnight periods, helping them move towards independence.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, trauma‑informed support and build positive relationships with children.
• Encourage healthy routines, prepare meals, and support education and life‑skill development.
• Advocate for young people, ensuring their voices are heard in all decisions.
• Assist with medical appointments, community activities, and transport using your own vehicle when required.
• Support children in moving confidently towards independence, including sleep‑ins and weekend coverage.

Required profile

• Experience working with children or young people, paid or voluntary.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Patience, empathy, resilience and flexibility to work waking nights, weekends and occasional sleep‑ins.
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
• NVQ Level 3 in Children’s Residential Care or equivalent (desirable but not essential).

Required skills

• Valid UK driving licence.
• Ability to obtain an Enhanced DBS check.
