Children Residential Registered Manager

About the role

We are looking for an experienced OFSTED Registered Residential Child Care Manager to launch a brand‑new therapeutic children’s home in Northumberland. You will build a high‑quality service, lead a dedicated team and create a safe, nurturing environment where vulnerable children can thrive.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the residential children’s home, ensuring full compliance with OFSTED regulations and Children’s Homes Quality Standards.
• Support the home’s registration process and drive continuous improvement.
• Recruit, develop and retain a high‑performing staff team.
• Deliver trauma‑informed, child‑centred therapeutic care.
• Oversee budgets, staffing levels, safeguarding procedures and quality assurance.
• Build strong relationships with local authorities, families and partner agencies.

Required profile

• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
• Minimum two years’ experience as a Registered Manager, Deputy Manager or senior leader in a residential children’s home.
• Full UK driving licence.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of OFSTED inspection frameworks, safeguarding protocols and Children’s Homes Regulations.
• Excellent leadership, communication and team‑development abilities.
