Children's Community Carer

About the role

As a Children’s Community Carer you will provide high‑quality, personalised care to children with complex medical needs in their own homes and community settings across Surrey. Working closely with families and clinical teams, you will help children feel safe, comfortable and independent while supporting their overall wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver safe, effective care to children in the community as delegated by the Named Nurse.
• Identify and act on safeguarding concerns following established procedures.
• Maintain competence in clinical skills and understand emergency procedures, including escalation and resuscitation.
• Collaborate with families and multidisciplinary teams to create and follow child‑centred care plans.
• Adapt care provision to changing needs of each child and family.

Required profile

• Compassionate, adaptable and motivated to make a real difference for children and families.
• Dedicated to providing child‑centred, safe and sensitive care.
• Flexible and able to respond to changing care requirements.
• Willingness to work closely with clinical staff and adhere to safeguarding standards.

Required skills

• Clinical care competence.
• Emergency response knowledge.
• Resuscitation skills.
