Children's Home Deputy Manager

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Deputy Manager to join a newly opening children’s residential home on the Wirral. The role involves living on‑site and providing 24‑hour care and support to boys and girls aged 6‑16, helping them develop life‑skills and confidence.

Key responsibilities

• Work a rotating schedule of two full days and nights on‑site, followed by four days off, with flexibility as needed.
• Support children with daily routines – preparing breakfast, dressing, school drop‑offs and pick‑ups, laundry, cooking, bathing and bedtime.
• Create and manage staff rotas, lead the support team and ensure adherence to individual care plans.
• Assist the Home Manager in the overall running of the home, including health and safety and regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• Resident of Wirral or surrounding area.
• Full UK driving licence; own vehicle preferred (house car available).
• NVQ Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People’s Workforce (essential); Level 5 or enrolment in Level 5 highly regarded.
• Proven experience working within a residential child‑care setting.

What we offer

• Hourly rate of £16.25 (Level 3) or £17.78 (Level 5) plus £60 sleep‑in allowance.
• Additional 16 paid hours per month for paperwork.
• 224 days holiday (including extra 2 days after two years) and bank holidays paid at 1.5×.
