Children's Home Deputy Manager

About the role

A great opportunity to work with an established and growing care company providing residential live‑in support for children and young adults with learning difficulties and challenging behaviour. The team is dedicated to equipping children with life skills to become well‑rounded members of the community, offering both emotional support and developmental teaching.

Key responsibilities

• Based in a children’s residential home in Wallasey, working a 2‑day/2‑night shift pattern (with flexibility) followed by 4 days off.
• Support children aged 6‑16 with daily routines: preparing breakfast, dressing, school transport, washing, cooking dinner, bathing and bedtime.
• Prepare staff rotas, lead the support team, ensure care plans are adhered to and assist the manager in running the home.

Required profile

• Living in or near Wallasey.
• Full UK driving licence (own vehicle preferred; house car available).
• NVQ Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People’s Workforce (Level 5 or studying for it is a strong advantage).
• Experience working within a residential child‑care framework.

What we offer

• Hourly rate £16.25 (NVQ Level 3) or £17.78 (NVQ Level 5).
• £60 sleep‑in allowance per night.
• Additional 16 paid hours per month for paperwork.
• 224 holiday hours per year plus 2 extra days after 2 years of service.
• Bank holidays paid at 1.5× rate.
• Private health care and further training & development.
• Petrol reimbursement at 40p per mile.
